This book was sitting on my Kindle shelf for a long time. Why? No idea, I was in a bit of a reading stump.
I started this book at about 2 PM and basically binged read it with the exception of picking up my sister from school then eating dinner. Yes, it WAS THAT GOOD.
This story starts off with Rhae dealing with the death of her husband of five years. She's in the middle of a spiral of grief when she find out her husband was not the person she thought he was. He has secrets that were life altering for Rhae, but she's a tough girl and she slowly begins to build herself up again. This is when she meets Cade, a visiting neighbor from down the road. He's definitely eye-candy for Rhae although she feels guilty for having any feelings as innocent as they are towards Cade. They develop a friendship like no other, and no... I don't mean FWB. Which is one thing I loved about this story, yes, sex was on our minds but it didn't happen(yet).. Very realistic. Something then happens and Cade and Rhae stop communicating with each other. Rhae decides that she needs a fresh start and travels to New Orleans.. What happens from there on is for YOU to find out.
-I loves Rhae's character, she has a true southern charm to her. She was obviously angry at how her life turned out but she got it together and took the high road in the end.
-Hmmm, Cade.. Well he's gorgeous and NICE. I wish I had a neighbor like him down the street.
-I also loved all of Rhae's friends and sisters, they were exactly how my friends are! And Irma, such a sweet lady!
It was a very enjoyable story and a fairly easy read, I recommend it if you like authors like Jamie McGuire, Colleen Hoover, Abbi Glines.
