WHEN THE SKY WAS PROTECTED by Madison Doherty
I recently got the opportunity to read this book when the author sent me a copy for review. I wasn't too sure what to expect from this book considering that it's the opposite of romance, which is what I usually read. Guess what? I loved it.
The novel follows Federal Air Marshal Grace Bryant on her final flight before the change to her desk job. What should have been a easy last flight turns into a fight for her life and the safety of others as the plane is hijacked by a trio of men. Grace and the other Federal Air Marshals on the plane were lucky enough to have stopped the attack with minimal civilians being hurt or killed. After this traumatizing event Grace is skeptical about returning to work but decides to return after some time off. When Grace returns to work she is assigned to be part of the investigation team looking for clues as to why the terrorists attacked the plane and who they were. With each piece of the puzzle solved, more questions came up. Nothing made sense and Grace realized that the plane she saved that day wasn't being attacked by terrorist but by someone closer to the Federal Air Marshal dept.
-I loved Grace's attitude, she is a woman who doesn't put up with people. Who says women can't be super kick ass heroes and mothers at the same time? Not Grace.. Because she's both!
*I thought I wasn't going to enjoy this book as much as I did when I saw that it was described as a political thriller, I was wrong. Very wrong. The book was awesome! It's a solid 4.5 stars for me! If you like thrillers, I suggest you check this one out.
